The work of Emanuel de Sousa is undoubtedly influenced by the Expressionism of the artist Lucian Freud (1922-2011). The thickness of the brushstrokes and well-defined contours, transform the figures he portrays into authentic sculptures. In this painting, the artist follows this artistic language that already characterises. The details of the physiognomy of the figure, although not very realistic, demonstrate knowledge about anatomy.
